Apple designs consumer electronics that have touched millions and changed the way people interact with electronic devices around the world. The Sensor Calibration & Instrumentation Group is looking for an engineer to be directly responsible for the design of instrumentation systems for vibration motors. This engineer will work closely with the validation and product design groups to ensure the success of current and future Apple products.

Key Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 1+ years of professional experience
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following: C/C++/Objective-C/Python
  • Experience with test automation and optimization
  • Experience working with one or more of the following sensors: Microphone, accelerometer, gyroscope, load cell/dynamic force sensor
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP)

Description

Specification, development and deployment of vibration motor calibration and instrumentation systems for use during Apple new product introduction (NPI) process and mass production. Responsibilities include: Develop, optimize and debug software in C/C++/Objective-C and Python Work with our mechanical team to specify and validate the required mechanical fixtures for calibrating and measuring devices/components Specify and acquire equipment, components and tools for use in a NPI environment Deploy systems to our production facilities during our development process Analyze large amounts of calibration and performance data Debug from the system level down to the component level Up to 25% international travel

Education

BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Physics (MS preferred)

Additional Requirements

Preferred: MS in Electrical Engineering or 3+ years of professional experience High volume consumer electronics manufacturing experience Experience with vibration motors (Linear Resonant Actuators, DC Motors, etc) Experience in Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) analysis Mac OS X experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills
