Short Description

Job Purpose: Reliability engineer is responsible for reliability assurance of domain specific equipment and system at the respective site/s. The engineer shall carry out Reliability studies, Performance Improvement Initiatives, Audit, Benchmarking of systems & processes being followed. The Reliability Engineer shall be responsible for specific Inspection, Testing & evaluation activities as per approved procedures and preventive inspection schedules in line with vision and mission of REAM group.

Long Description

Job Accountabilities
Carryout site Equipment performance monitoring, benchmarking, Audit of processes being used and track follow up actions
Support on troubleshooting of major & critical equipment / issues at the site
Participate in Protective system study & implement recommendations
Review obsolescence and implement renewal plan at site
Participate & value addition in Reliability studies for various equipment
Provide repair/rerate recommendations for domain equipment
Prepare shutdown inspection plans and arrange specialist resources
Participate in Root Cause Analysis and ensure early completion of pending RCAs, liquidation of RCA recommendations and approval of MOCs & CAT actions.
Track and follow up on inspection/ PM/PdM/ RCA recommendations
Coordinate with maintenance & project team for system up gradation
Prepare/ Review Selection & Standardization of best practices/ Standards/ Procedures
Interaction with CoE/ vendors/ licensors for recommendations on improvements in reliability
Provide key inputs for new asset procurement based on Reliability/ Integrity & Maintainability aspects
Take ownership for HSE compliance (RESOP, DOSHE, CASHe, HSEF mandatory trainings)
Undergo training and develop skills pertaining to Domain speciality
Carry out respective testing/ Inspection/ analytical activities on various domain equipment
Document all inspection / PM/ Predictive activities

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
Understanding of basic reliability techniques like RCM/ FMEA/ RBI/ Statistical analysis
Have basic knowledge and applicability of respective domain testing methods with certification on related processes.
Have basic understanding of welding methods
Shall have basic knowledge of SAP-PM and MM modules
Have basic knowledge of refinery processes and domain related phenomena
Ensure improvement in availability & reliability of domain equipments
Timely adherence to inspection/ Preventive/ Predictive schedules
Have basic awareness of domain related codes and standards
Have basic understanding of various statutory and regulatory requirements for domain equipment and system
Shall have good written and oral communication skills
Coordinate seamlessly with all stakeholders like operations, maintenance, project group, technical service, design and commercial groups

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical / Production / Materials Science/ Instrumentation/ Electrical Engineering with experience of about 3 to 6 Yrs in chemical / petrochemical/ refinery organisation. Must have hands’ on experience on Maintenance / Reliability analysis/ Root cause analysis with a standard application.
