Short Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for maintaining and maximising Instrumentation system availability and reliability at one of RIL manufacturing division with safety through continuous improvement techniques, predictive and preventive maintenance.

Long Description

Job Accountabilities
Accountable for maintaining and maximizing reliability & availability of DCS, PLC, Analysers & various other field instruments at Site.
Improve reliability through Continuous Improvement techniques/ up-gradation / Projects / implementation of advance diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques.
Implement and provide inputs to standardize best practices specific to site instrumentation equipment.
Implement Group guidelines and LFIs for reliability improvement. Incorporate significant Reliability shared lessons learnt into Engineering Technical Procedures
Carryout Trouble shooting & support for major & critical failures / issues occurring at site
Participate in reliability & Integrity studies as identified
Analyse obsolescence and implement asset renewal plan at site
Review and maintain interlocks and Shutdown systems.
Maintain Instrumentation testing laboratory
Participate in turnaround & shutdown activities.
Identify and Implement energy conservation initiatives.
Support for Technical Due Diligence for major activities, minor projects, plant expansions and modifications.
Follow and enforce applicable HSEF procedures/ practices and RIL Group Safety Standards.
Participate and review RCAs, liquidation of RCA recommendations.
Support REAM functions with reliability standards & defect elimination efforts.
Reduce production losses from defects / failures/ breakdowns.
Conduct periodic audits to identify gaps and ensure instrumentation system operation and maintenance adherence to Group Standards and Best Maintenance Practices.
Updation /knowledge of SAP related maintenance
Support for new procurement, FAT/SAT
Effective implementation of SMPs & PM procedures to reduce plant failures
Manage Repair & Refurbishment activities
Interaction with IMMS group, Mumbai for expediting codification of urgent Instrumentation items
Reviewing and Maintaining IMS documents for Instrumentation Maintenance
Releasing Material and Service PR of Inst and their follow up.
Interaction with various support services Human Resource, Administration, Workshop, planning, security for Inst
Interaction with vendor/equipment manufacturers for Inst discipline.
Manage learning & development of self & subordinates.
Ensure HSEF compliance (RESOP, MIQA, CFA, DOSHE mandatory trainings/CSM).
Support for Knowledge management and Documentation management.
Provide inputs for plant maintenance cost budgeting and optimization of resources.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
Exposure in deploying best maintenance practices, energy conservation measures, project management, strong trouble shooting capabilities.
Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance, FMEA reliability tools.
Knowledge of Instrumentation operation and maintenance
Decision making ability
Analytical thinking
Managing Ambiguity
Knowledge of SAP PM/ MM modules.
Good communication skills
Familiar with relevant codes and standards
Teaming, leading and developing people

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)
Candidate should have BE / ME / B Tech / M Tech in Instrumentation/Electronics Engineering with a range 6 years to 9 years of experience as Instrumentation Reliability Engineer in oil and gas, manufacturing industry, Polyester, Polymer, Petrochemical, Refinery industry.
